ARGENTINE MALBEC (0, -) The Argentine Malbechas found uniquely favourable growing conditions in Argentina and has no doubt created one of the most successful and delicious Malbec wines in the world. A combination of desert climate, cold nights, and irrigation of eternal snows from the Andes, creates an especially healthy environment for these vines. An intense bouquet of damson plums, blackcurrant and violet aromas give way to a slight touch of hunting and leather notes. This richly purple coloured Malbeccarries a velvety texture with long, soft flavours. Although it ages beautifully, firm tannins and mellow acidity allow this wine to be enjoyed while young.

ITALIAN BARBARESCO (0, #) Named for the village in Italy's Piedmont region, recognized fo its big, powerful red wines, full of tannins in their youth, yet aging into complex wines, with lush aromas, robust fruit flavours, and a dry, full finish. Similar in style to its Barolo cousin, yet more elegant and refined.
ITALIAN MONTEPULCIANO (0, +) Montepulciano is a vigourus red grape variety widely planted over much of east-central Italy, capable of creating deeply colored, rich red wines with blackberry fruit flavours and spicy, peppery qualities. Due to its moderate acid and firm tannin levels, Montepulciano generally produces wines that are smooth and mellow yet robust and mouth-filling, with dependably high alcohol content. Superb with veal and pasta - an Italian gem you won't want to miss.
ITALIAN SANGIOVESE (0, -) Italian Sangiovese (san-joe-VAY-zee) has a bright red cherry character, overlaying strawberry notes, with hints of violets and white pepper. It's medium body and long, wonderfully smooth, tannic finish is livened by a zing of acidity and toasty oak.
SPANISH RIOJA (0, #) Spain's finest red wine blend from the famous northern Spanish region. Tends towards the traditional Bordeaux style, combining bright berry and spice flavours, deep red colours and solid tannin backup. Includes premium oak for a soft, dry vanilla finish. Delightful when aged.
